How are Mitsubishi Tires Measured?

Does your Mitsubishi need a new set of tires? It’s always important to get the right tire size so you will experience optimal performance and safety. While most tire centers will know what you need, it’s a good idea to know how Mitsubishi tires are measured so that you will get the right size when you need it most.

Measuring Mitsubishi Tires

If you look straight at your Mitsubishi’s tires, there will be a letter or set of letters. If it says “P”, the tire is designed for passenger vehicles. “LT” stands for light truck. If there are no letters present, then the tire is designed by European standards and you may need to refer to your owner’s manual for additional information. Following the letter is a set of numbers printed or embossed on the tire. The first set of numbers will tell you how wide the tire is in millimeters. The second set of numbers describes the aspect ratio. After that, there will be a letter that describes the tire’s construction. Finally, the last set of numbers indicates the tire’s height in inches.
